Hailey | is 4!

This cutie was my very first client for Emily Schmidt Photography. It's hard to believe that was a year ago already...and now she's turning 4 and I am thrilled to be able to do her birthday pictures once more. This is the last year before she starts school so her Mom wanted to do something fun and special for her. Since the weather was horrid, horrid harsh and bitter cold on Saturday we opted for a mix of posed and lifestyle indoor shots. It's even harder to believe that it was four years ago that I transferred positions at my job to cover for her Mom when she was out on maternity leave bringing her into this wonderful world. I'm so glad I get to call her Mom a friend now and got to know her over the years. I do miss her a lot since switching jobs this past fall, but at least there's facebook, photo sessions, and girls night out!

My attempt at being crafty. I think it turned out not too bad!

Hailey is in the "I love Princesses" stage, so naturally we had to invite Rapunzel to the party as well.

Attempts at glitter, but it was so windy out, it blew away before she even had a chance to do it herself.

Are the WINNERS of the kiddos are.......

Boys!

A total of 136 votes came in for the boys and the majority says: Colton! Yay! There were THREE others who were tied for second place though which was pretty cool and a close race. Colton's signature way to catch the ladies include making tractor noises and batting his pretty green eyes. I'm not going to lie, I later told my husband that Colton was now added to my daughter's list of potential husbands one day. hehe

Girls!

There were only 63 votes for the girls, but these cuties won by a landslide. They belong to one of my good friends and they are oh-so-adorable! Big sis is the best helper for her younger brother and sisters. I'm so proud to know her Mom and be able to share secrets and frustrations with her and know she'll always be there for me if needed. xoxo

p.s. Happy Birthday to Baby Girl in this picture who just turned 1!

Best of 2011: Family

It's always better when we're together: Family time!

THE RULES: DON'T CHEAT!

1. You can only vote for one photo.

2. If you decide to vote by name, also include the # since there are a couple with the same name.

3. Include your name in the comment field. Technical difficulties are allowing "anonymous" user right now so leave your name or else just "Anonymous" without a name won't be counted.

4. You can get your friends and family to vote but they have to go to my blog and vote for themselves.

5. Deadline: to be determined. I'll keep the voting open for at least a week or two.

6. I will be approving all comments so don't worry if yours doesn't show up right away. It may take me awhile to approve them all.

7. The winner will receive a 7x10 mounted print: extra lustre coating, texture, and on matboard. **The ratio is a bit different than the normal 8x10 but it will allow for no cropping of the photos and you can either get a custom size frame or just place it on a shelf {which is what I love}!
